As the world gears up for the release of Portal 2 the marketing machine kicks it up a gear.
Here’s the story behind the Portal 2 TV ad though. Valve did this themselves rather than bringing in a creative agency. I’m sure they got a media planner and buyer in to work out the schedule and divide the cash wisely though.
What do you think? Very Portal. Good enough for Valve to proudly announce that they made it themselves and didn’t need a creative agency? I think this is a great ad but it’s just the same as a trailer for the game. I’m not sure there’s all that much difference between a concept artist at Valve and someone at the creative agency so I think the gamers made the right call in going alone in this case.
