Marco Serrano is crowdfunding a TTRPG called Greenhorns, which deals with unthinkable anomalies spawning out of the chaos created by your planet building.
The game uses the basis of the Together We Go System, which blends OSR adventures into narrative mechanics to reward, making the adventure dramatic. The Kickstarter has about four weeks left on the clock, a goal of $5,000, which it has nearly met, and you can see on the project page just how close.
Can’t wait? Eager to hunt bounties and dungeon-crawl planet construction? There’s a Name Your Own Price Quickstart on Itch.
Characters are Kruxians who bring new life into being and protect their own home planet from rogues. It’s a dangerous job, and that’s why the PCs are greenhorns; they’re new to the gap left behind by predecessors.
The game uses classes and will have at least eight, such as the Light Witch and Void Magician.
The setting uses job boards, so the book has several of them, and these boards combine ‘planet layers’ with bounties and assignments on the home planet of Kruxor.
Kruxor itself is a sandbox location with locations and factions. Furthermore, the random tables of gear and weapons include encounters on Kruxor as well as the adventure planets.
The finished book promises to be about 100 pages, hardcover and include 13 or so missions.
Planet creation missions feel like dungeon diving. Bounty hunting missions challenge the crew to topple enemy schemes and eliminate lethal adversaries. And Kruxor, the crew’s home planet, is an everchanging sandbox location that provides prominent factions and opportunities for developing your characters.
Backers with pledges of $20 or more will get a PDF copy of Greenhorns the weird space RPG as a thank you, and access to the some of the add-ons.
The hardcover of Greenhorns unlocks as a reward, along with the PDF, at $35.
The $50 tier layers on the Greenhorns Class Booster, previously an add-on and the Greenhorns patch.
For collectors, the rewards expand to include two 11″x17″ art prints and both game editions at $70. Or, if you want the extras, the games, and the art, then pledge $85. However, these tiers are restricted to teh States.
Marco estimates a July 24 shipping for the project and the campaign closes on the 15th of Feburary.
