Pablo Berger directs a feature-length animated version of Robot Dreams. No, not the Asimov but the graphic novel by Sara Varon.
The Chicago-based author’s book is about a lonely dog who buys and builds a robot as a companion. The two become close friends, but, alas, good things come to an end, and Dog is forced to say farewell to Robot.
Will they meet again?
We follow Dog as he tries to fill the void, and life is now empty of what was once an inseparable Robot friend.
The animated movie was released last year only on the festival circuit and picked up some impressive reviews, including one from Guillermo Del Toro, who said, “Beautiful, unexpected, and tender”.
It’s thought that the trailer tees up the French-Spanish project for a release in the USA, and some reports of it coming to Paramount+ later this month.
