Centennia Roleplaying Game: Space pilgrims with tough choices to make

Darkfuries Publishing may well be best known for their maps and battle plans, typically with 4 or 5/5 stars on DriveThruRPG, but the first Kickstarter from the company is for a sci-fi RPG.

Brian Moseley’s indie RPG is called Centennia, a game about humanity’s deep space colonisation plan. It goes wrong. The Kickstarter is live until December 11th with a short video on the pitch page.

The game uses the 10GINE system, which uses 6d10 dice pools for actions and events.

As a free download and preview, Darkfuries has made the Centennia: Colonist’s Companion available via DriveThruRPG. It’s 40 pages long, making it pretty generous.

In the game, characters are from the Centennia colony ship, a project funded by them, and after something happened. The spaceship is damaged, memory ruined, and perhaps doomed but passing near a habitable planet, so the Centennia was also abandoned.

Now, the Centennians are colonists on a harsh new planet with old ruins.

Gaia, the new world. An unforeseen home for a fragile and fragmented branch of humanity lost and desperate to survive. The fleet that descended to the new world found zones of earth-like biomes populated with thousands of earth’s flora and animal species. Dense forests dominated the central expanse, while countless animal herds roamed the grasslands and steppes. And far beyond lay unmistakable ruins of a past civilisation.

Indie RPG supporters can share the news, helping Brian Moseley’s project succeed or offering some cash. Backers offering $25 or more will pick the completed Colonist’s Companion and the Escape Craft Deck Plans as PDFs as thank you rewards.
