Cogito Ergo Meeple is back on Kickstarter, following up their Solar 175 Euro legacy game with a Roll and Write game.
Luddite has a pretty unique, but in hindsight, genius, angle as it integrates with a graphic novel. The game also supports solo play with up to infinite players. The Bath-based publisher has set a goal of £11,000 for Luddite, and within hours of launch, they are halfway there. You can join in too.
Luddite is a standalone game, but it is set in the Solar 175 universe, which Cogito Ergo Meeple has visited before so you can discover more about it through the Lunar Magazine (PDF link).
The physical editions need 3d6 to play and a coin, but the digital game has the mechanics built in. The accessories for the game are generous; chunky dice that look incredibly easy to read, dry-erase markers, metal coins and, of course, the graphic novel.
Cogito Ergo Meeple also offers Kickstarter exclusives like limited edition comic books and metal and enamel bookmarks.
Set in a Dark, Sci-Fi, Dystopian future, Luddite has you take on the role of a digital saboteur. Take your revenge on the AI systems that stole everything from you by hacking into the dangerous systems of the Near-Earth Dynamic Systems automota!
The Luddite print and play edition, which comes in very different PDFs, including low ink options, is a reward for backers who contribute at least £4.
The digital game costs £8 and includes the PDFs as well.
However, what Cogito Ergo Meeple calls the ‘full Luddite Experience’ is reserved for backers at £35. That’s the tier where exclusive comic books, prints, and stickers are offered as rewards.
The estimated delivery of Luddite is December, even for the digital game.
