I gotta admit – I think Firebox has come up with a pretty nifty way of having an axe in the house, and out on display, without actually having a weapon display.
This Viking axe is designed for swift access to beer. Or should that be ax-cess?
[Show me!]
Made from plastic and metal (not wood) and measuring 19 cm by 12 by 4cm, the axe bottle opener clips over the bottle cap. It is designed for an easy grip and allows you to lever the seal off the bottle.
Firebox’s blurb says;
… gives you a dash of sheer epicness that can turn any casual gathering into a legendary saga.
I’m not always one for the marketing text that goes with product descriptions, but I give team Firebox this; an axe bottle opener will certainly be a talking point.
We’ve missed Father’s and Mother’s days, so you’ll have to get the axe for yourself.
I also looked around for a suitable beer, or in this case, a lager to suggest as a partner for the axe. What about a decapitation? Master of Malt sells Moosehead Lager, and I think that should go nicely with the weapony vibe of the night.
Imagine tossing someone your axe and saying, “Can you take the Mousehead off with that yourself?”
Too much? Be thankful I didn’t suggest the Fierce Blood of Nidhoggr Bottling! I didn’t because that only seems to come in cans.
