Here’s the summary folks; Microsoft are putting the price for Xbox Live up. For gamers in the US, Canda, UK and Mexico the fee will rise. As you’d expect we’ve the US details first. The price hike comes into force on the 1st of November.
How much? It’s an increase from $50 to $60.
You’ve two ways of looking at that. One way – that’s a 20% increase. That’s steep. The other way is to point out this is the first ever increase since 2002 when Xbox Live launched and $10 isn’t too much for a year.
I always equate Xbox Live to about the cost of an expensive game. You do pay $60 for a game these days (that’s about £38).
I’ll certainly not be one of the people rushing out to cancel their account. Mind you; I have some sympathy for the user expeirence shown in the graphic below. Any reader actually managed to cancel their account?
