Do you think you could survive in Hawkins, Indiana? That’s the sleepy town of monsters where Dustin, Max and Lucas find Eleven and Stranger Things.
In true 80s style, there’s now a Stranger Things choose your own adventure book. Well. There will be. You can pre-order now, and it has a release date of 21st April 2023.
Published by the giant Random House and written by Rana Tahir, there are 25 possible endings to the Heroes & Monsters adventure, and you could end up in the Pennhurst Asylum, the Upside Down or last season’s Creel house.
Shannon Gilligan, who specialises in putting together CYOA (choose your own adventures) told Publishers Weekly that that’s a much longer book than usual.
The Stranger Things CYOA will be the longest CYOA book to date, “almost three times longer than a regular Choose Your Own Adventure book,”
“Season Four of Stranger Things is a very rich story, and [Random House] wanted the book to be based on it, but not necessarily to cover it in its entirety,”
In the same interview, Gilligan also confirmed that some of the mature content from season four won’t make it into the book.
Author Rana Tahir had worked with Gilligan before, and when Random House came to the organiser to make the book, Rana was turned to.
