TTRPG YouTuber MrRhexx has released his first Kickstarter, and Sands of Doom is a 5e campaign to take characters from level 1 to 11.
A prophecy warns of an ancient evil and ten cataclysmic plagues for the land of Al’kirat. The Kickstarter launch doesn’t look like a catastrophe; the campaign already has over a hundred backers.
PCs and rivals must collect the Anubian Relics to face the darkness, each one a legendary-level magic item with incredible power.
MrRhexx’s adventure is an open-world game which means the players and their characters get the freedom to do whatever they want and the game shouldn’t derail.
In a twist, PCs can be trolls, earth elementals or even gnolls.
An undead army of 30,000 gnolls marches towards the great tiefling city of Kirat. Time is ticking and characters will have to find ways to unite the disparate species of the kingdom against the inevitable onslaught. Find ways to weaken the enemy army, disrupt its crucial alliances, and delay their advance for as long as possible to have a chance at surviving the climactic final siege.
Backers who support the game with at least $25 will be thanked with a PDF copy of Sands of Doom.
$50 backers get that reward upgraded with a hardcover copy of the book but will have to pay shipping fees too.
The Champion’s Loot tier is popular and needs a pledge of $85 to unlock. That adds maps, a GM screen, voice-acted scenes to play, and official Sands of Doom music.
The support options go higher, including a $135 tier which adds the softcover of the Sands of Doom classes and a magic items deck, and a $225 tier which further adds more monster classes and the Collector’s Edition of the Sand of Doom.
There are add-ons, and MrRhexx estimates project delivery in around February 2024.
