Indie RPG publisher Bugbearslug has released the horror RPG Nekropol and you can download it for free.
The download is a sci-fi ezine that doubles as a d20 table which means that each page is designed so it is something like a look table, a random monster table, and character creation options. Nekropol contains more than 100+ system-neutral body parts such as grafts and icky Necrotech gear.
Long have we dreamt of a cure to death. And in truth, it exists, a fountain of youth hidden past wastelands where nothing will grow.
In the lands surrounding this fountain, an entire city of wise immortals thrive, taking tribute from the lords and gods alike who come to beg for a reprieve. At the city’s disposal are innumerable horrors stitched together from the tribute of desperate lords. Nekropol has grown powerful; yet plagued by internal strife. A push in either direction could break the factional deadlock and determine the fate awaiting the world of the living and dead.
The transhuman horror features characters who aspire to “skeletal perfection” through surgery and defleshing techniques. This is all brought to life (so to speak) through the setting and art from Spaghettibastard.
The download also uses an innovative procedural generation process to let DMs quickly put together whole cities.
