BBC Studios and Lucky Duck Games have announced a Sherlock partnership, which will see many games and kick off with Sherlock: Case Connection.
The board game, a competitive puzzle, is due in the second quarter of 2022. That’s not months away.
The game will be available in Europe, US, Canada and the UK and in English, French, Italian and Polish. Lucky Duck is based in Krakow.
Mandy Thwaites, Director of UK Publishing and Consumer Products, told the press;
BBC Studios is delighted to work with Lucky Duck Games to bring the Sherlock license to life through board games. Lucky Duck has a proven track record of publishing high-quality investigation games and we’re looking forward to seeing the Sherlock: Case Connection game at retail.”
Vincent Vergonjeanne, CEO of Lucky Duck Games, added, “With our long experience in publishing investigation games, creating board games in the Sherlock universe is a real treat for our team. Bringing together Lucky Duck’s expertise in the tabletop industry and BBC Studios’ and Hartswood’s IP has created an immense opportunity for original game design and interactive storytelling.”
Lucky Duck’s Chronicles of Crime, which isn’t a Sherlock game, has sold more than 200,000 copies and Kingdom Rush: Rift in Time raised over one million USD via Kickstarter.
It’s expected Sherlock: Case Connection will cost around $25/€25.
