The action-horror Jujutsu Kaisen will open its feature-length on December 24th. It’s a prequel to the TV series, which ended after 24 episodes.
Shame, bullying, regret and all sorts of negatives become Curses in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. Curses are entities, ghost-like horrors that attack people.
However, Sorcerers are people (and people adjacent entities!) that can embrace these Curses, take on some of their hardship and use that as a way to fight back.
The prequel, Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School, is described by Viz Media;
Yuta Okkotsu is a nervous high school student who is suffering from a serious problem—his childhood friend Rika has turned into a Curse and won’t leave him alone. Since Rika is no ordinary Curse, his plight is noticed by Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu High, a school where fledgling exorcists learn how to combat Curses. Gojo convinces Yuta to enroll, but can he learn enough in time to confront the Curse that haunts him?
