Singapore-based Miracle Manufacturing is back on Kickstarter with a new generation of their triangular dice boxes.
The second version of these display and carry cases are decorated with maze designs that glow in the dark. If you’re a collector with a UV-lit display case, then they’re ideal. Part of the project, available separately from the boxes, are “magma dice” that also glow. You can pledge or check out the latest campaign total from the project page.
The glow is the result of fluorescent resin that’s polished into the designs. If you’re looking for a particular visual effect for your display-orientated geeky den, I imagine the cases are rare.
Furthermore, it’s possible to customise these cases with personalised messages for very little money. I suspect that’ll be one of the main attractions for the indie project.
No special treatment is needed after you get this box. All you need is to invite some friends on a weekend night for a relaxing game, at the end of which you put the box on the table, and gently turn off the lights. Naturally, your friends will fix their eyesight upon this wonderful treasure, glowing with dazzling light. If your cabinet is equipped with an ultraviolet lamp, the box will present their best quality day or night.
There’s little said about the magma dice except for a photograph that shows a maze-like pattern and a glowing series of numbers. They cost about 70USD for a set, but Kickstarter tells me that’s about £51.
There are also early bird tiers still available on the cases. It’s the retail and co-branded tiers that are selling out.
Delivery is surprisingly soon for physical products, slated for November of this year.
