Netflix’s Shadow and Bone trailer shines a light on the series

Shadow and Bone, a fantasy series based on Leigh Bardugo’s debut novel, will premiere on Netflix on April 23rd.

The impressive trailer shows a world locked in darkness and the power that a light summoner could bring.

In the book, Alina Starkov and Malyen Oretsev are orphans who are crossing the Unsea darkness when they are attacked by monsters known as volcra.

It’s this attack which manifests Alina’s power of light, brings her to the attention of the Darkling, the leader of the Grisha, and who takes her to court for protection.

It’s expected that the Netflix series will run for eight episodes.
