The World Ends With You anime launches battle trailer

The anime based off Square Enix’s computer roleplaying game The World Ends With You has released a second trailer.

There are subtitles and a lot more to see, including some of the battles those survivors pulled into the life-or-death game must face.

The game was set in 2007, but the anime will be updated to 2020 or thereabouts, and so the likes of cellphones that featured will become smartphones.

The players, known as Reapers, must complete their tasks with the aid of partners or face simply being erased by the powers that be.

The World Ends With You will air in Japan in April next year and is expected to stream on Funimation.
