Female jedi X-Wing pilot

July 20, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

I’m not sure where Star Wars: Episode VII is going with female characters. There’s been rumours and concerns in equal measure. This illustration by Philippino artist Ray-ann Sagun shows the promise those. This Jedi looks strong and determined as she climbs out of her X-Wing expecting trouble.

What if Star Wars was set in an 80s High School

June 19, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Geek Native has featured the art of Denis Medri before. He’s done the Justice League as cowboys, steampunk Spider-man and a Rockabilly Batman and Bane set. Now? The clever artist has turned to Star Wars and set the sci-fi epic in a High School heavy with 80s fashion. Highly recommended: check out his blog.

Gently killing the Star Wars Expanded Universe

April 30, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

At a glance this video is a lovefest for the old Star Wars Expanded Universe (the EU). We’ve the new Star Wars team raving about how much they’ve enjoyed it. Read between the lines, though. This video is gently letting us know that the EU is there to fuel and inspire the next set of […]

The birth of the lightsaber

April 7, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YdBvWauNwA The official Star Wars YouTube has shared this birth of the lightsaber video. Have you noticed how the first lightsaber battles were fought using a two-handed hold? It was only later on that one-handed tactics were used. An interesting point is this – in a world of ray-guns is a lightsaber an offensive or […]

Geeky workouts

April 6, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Is “geeky workout” an oxymoron? Hmm, I suspect not, some of the geeks I know are also gym bunnies. I think Neila Ray might also classify. Her site has everything from workouts to fitness tips and recipes… but there’s a geeky flare too. For example, these visual workouts are a case in point.

Sith D-Bags challenge Jedi A-Holes

February 28, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

These are Sith Douche Bags. If you’re not sure what the word “Douche” means then just pop it into Google Translate from French to English. Joking aside – and nifty special effects aside (actually, marvel at the FX) – this is a clever bit of vlogger marketing. The RP Wham team are calling out to […]

The Darth Vader and Son series

January 29, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This collection of comic strips popped up on Imgur. Worth a share and a nod to the creator Jeffrey Brown. Not likely to be Disney canon Star Wars, though.

In the run up to New York Comic Con we’re getting teased with some micro-trailers. This is one for the Star Wars Rebels animation set between Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The Empire is tightening its grip on the galaxy, tracking down and taking […]

Is there such a thing as a sexy Obi-Wan pinafore?

October 7, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Is there such a thing as a sexy Obi-Wan pinafore? If you ask Darling Amy she’ll point out this clever creation. The pinafore features a full circle skirt too that’s designed to (perhaps not completely) cover your bum. Cotton and vinyl are the main materials and thebodice is fully lined, featuring a crossed kimono detail […]
