Have you ever bought anything from the official BBC shop? It’s worth checking once and a while as they do keep some Doctor Who goodies back for themselves which you can’t get anywhere else. That’s what happened with these official 50th Anniversary Doctor Who mugs. The only place to buy them is directly from the […]

Red Dwarf room hidden in 11 bedroom English mansion
Do you have nearly £3.5m to spare and the need for an 11 bedroom grade ii Victorian family mansion? If you do then pop over to Rightmove and check out all the stately photographs. You’ll be impressed. Just one thing; photograph 19 seems a little out of place. Hmm. Looks like Red Dwarf to me. […]

The monstrous GM’s chair design
Where do you sit when you GM? Do you sit on a sofa as you command hordes of orcs and control the thoughts of terrors from the void? Or do you sit on the same sort of chair as your players? What about an alternative? What about a suitable monstrous chair for a GM? This […]
The One gaming table to RULE them all
How’s this for a dining room set? Not something you’d find in either Argos or John Lewis, I’d imagine. Scratch that. How’s this for a table for a little D&D or Pathfinder on? Perhaps it’s more suited to a bit of dice rolling at MERP or the current LoTR RPG franchise – Cubicle 7’s The […]
A facehugger for your light switch; alien kisses for your fingers
Perhaps you weren’t tempted by these cute and cuddly aliens as Christmas presents for your geeky friends. Not hardcore enough for you. Not different. Too soft. If that’s the case why not check out Afterlight Sculpture on Etsy. They’ve an interesting range of lights. That’s right. You can get this Alien Facehugger switchplate cover. We’re […]
The Tardis and the Tentacle
How’s this for a pair of bookends? On one side you’ve the Tardis come to investigate. On the other side you’ve… well, it looks like a tentacle monster to me. The copper piping makes it clear the two are in the same old building. The fact that you can squeeze your books upright between them […]
Retro gaming in tile designs
With the combination of the new gaming consoles and Christmas coming up I fully expect to see plenty of gaming and game memorabilia marketing over the next few months. Not sure I expected Topps Tiles to join in – but they have with this post celebrating gaming history and design inspiration. They’ve taken their kitchen […]
Porcelain critters
Pokemon stands for ‘pocket monsters’ so perhaps we should call these porcelain monsters from Anya Stasenko and Slava Leontyev ‘Pocemon’. Mind you, I’m not sure porcelain is the best material for battles. Porcelain is certainly a great material for creating colourful and crisp, alien and odd, textured little critters. Sandcrawler soap powered by Jawa cuteness
Can soap ever be a good Christmas present? Perhaps so! This Jawa Sandcrawler (make that a soapcrawler) from Geek Soap is a strong contender. It is made from 100% from natural and vegan ingredients. Be warned, though, the Jawas are not included. They’re too sneaky and got away.
