August 17, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Israel designer Kobi Levi calls these shoes Witch-Craft. The shoes make use of the shapes and negative space to bring the Disney villain to life. They’re like shoe sculptures. The evil queen shoes are heel-less peep toes. The crowns wrap around ankles. Kobi suggests these are the shoes to highlight painted toe nails. The Ursula […]

29 Disney characters transform into fashionable steampunks

August 13, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood 1 Comment

This collection of Disney characters is impressive. There’s so many of them that have undergone Mecainque Fairy’s fantastic steampunk transformation. Mecainque Fairy is a deviant artist who’s going straight into my watch list. It’s also worth checking out her Tumblr where you’ll notice no shortage of sensible pro-woman, pro-body and pro-sexuality posts.

Big Hero 6 trailer

July 16, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This animation just happens to be Disney’s first use of Marvel characters since they bought the company. It’s not a Pixar animation either. The Big Hero 6 team first appeared in 1998’s Sunfire and Big Hero 6 #1 in a series which saw the Japanese government creating a state-approved roster of superheroes. There’s no clue […]

July 12, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

These Disney characters meet Gotham baddies are the work of Brazilian artist Rick Celis. Fans should also check out his Facebook page for various art projects and I found it an easier browse than his Deviant Art page. Disney Princesses playing Dungeons & Dragons

April 7, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood 1 Comment

Is this D&D Next or one of the earlier versions of Dungeons and Dragons? This illustration is the work of of Romanian artist Alexandra V Mihai. She’s done a superb job to capture the iconic characters here and earns lots of geek points for the D&D tribute. There’s rumours of a Society6 store in the […]
