12 Masks of Halloween

A Halloween advent calendar? Nearly! Geek Native has, for years, counted down 12 days to Halloween by sharing a mask daily.

Why masks? Halloween has roots in ancient traditions like Samhain, where people wore masks to disguise themselves from spirits or mimic them. This practice evolved into the modern tradition of wearing costumes and masks for fun and fright.

12 Masks of Halloween: #12 Dark Elf Queen

October 30, 2018 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

The Dark Elf Queen

This mask model is called “Dark Elf Queen” but she doesn’t look very dark elf in the D&D sense. Rather than that familiar inky skinned creature, this dark elf looks more like a vampire. Those are bat ears. It looks great. [Show more more pictures] This handmade mask is sold by the Etsy specialist The […]

12 Masks of Halloween: #11 Deadly Neon Woman

October 29, 2018 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

There’s something sinister about this smile. [I want it] This design comes from Poland. It actually is a mask. Rarely for a 12 Masks of Halloween post, I’m going to include a second picture at the bottom of the article so you can see how it works. Made from PVC and LED cold light wire […]

12 Masks of Halloween: #10 Reaper Lycra

October 28, 2018 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This is a striking mask and it clearly works well with the black hoodie in the picture. [I want this] What I like most about this mask is that you can fold it up and hide it in your pocket. This is a pull-down lycra fabric mask. This is the sort of mask you can […]

Handmade in the UK from latex, acrylic and epoxy this mask is a fully wearable black Cthulhu. Etsy tells us there are 154 people with this mask marked as a favourite in their shopping list. 12 Masks of Halloween: #8 Steampunk Catwoman

October 26, 2018 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This design is the work of Etsy boutique Higgins Creek. They call it a LED gatto steampunk mask. I’m going to call it a steampunk Catwoman mask. Which do you think fits best? [More pictures] There’s a few options you can select when ordering this design. You can pick a primary colour; all black or […]

12 Masks of Halloween: #7 Five Nights at Freddy’s

October 25, 2018 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Five Nights at Freddy’s is a horror computer RPG set in a fictional restaurant. Actually, it’s a series of games, and in the first three, you are a security guard trying to survive after hours when the animatronic characters come to life. This Halloween why not become a Five Nights at Freddy’s nightmare? [I want […]

12 Masks of Halloween: #6 Venom

October 24, 2018 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

I don’t think we’re surprised to see a certain symbiote in the charts this Halloween. This particular Venom is a top grade one and freshly in stock at Costume Supercenter. That’s a big player in the fancy dress world, and the mask will ship, for free, tomorrow, but I’d still be cautious about counting on […]

October 23, 2018 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

There’s this little game that’s quite popular right now. Fortnite will surely feature this Halloween and so if you’re planning to do that then you need to do that in style. [Show me moar!] I think people will struggle to beat this Fortnite Skull Trooper from Milanoo. It’s worth checking out their 24 hours quick […]

12 Masks of Halloween: #4 Dragon Mascot

October 22, 2018 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This contribution to the 12 Masks of Halloween series breaks the rules. Normally, for a Masks post, the goal is to find a big and bold image of the Halloween mask. After all, this is a visual thing we’re writing about and people need to see how their costume will look. So what’s the problem […]

If you saw our second mask in 2018’s 12 Masks of Halloween, then you’ll this blog isn’t afraid to go full body Halloween! The third mask is similar… except wildly different from the sexual latex of the previous mask. Today we offer up a hotdog! A shambling undead monster. [I want it] Joke.co.uk sells this […]
