It’s Steve Bialik’s turn to enjoy some time in the limelight.
He deserves it too. His Samurai Star Wars project is gaining quite a bit of attention. The artwork is quite stunning; both in juxtaposition and in execution.
The following is just a sample. Do check out Stevapalooza for the full thing.

Dr Who – The Beast Below trailer
In case you’ve had a busy week, like me, and you’ve not had a chance to watch the trailer for The Beast Below – here it is. Unless, that is, you’re like my Dundee friends and consider these trailers to be spoiler rich nasties and think the BBC should be shot for running them anytime […]
Dr. Horrible, act 1, as 8-bit NES sim
A geek with the funky moniker of DoctorOctoroc has propelled himself to geek god hood by taking the time and skills to recreate act 1 of Joss Whedon‘s Dr Horrible as a (theoretical) 8-bit NES game. He’s even letting you watch in HD or download the soundtrack from a specially created microsite. It’s a great […]
“Who is Princess Leia?” charmingly spoofs Google’s Superbowl ad
The busy people at College Humor have a new Star Wars video that’s bound to go viral – at least among we Geeks. It’s a Google/ Star Wars mashup that is a mild mannered spoof of “Parisian Love”. Parisian Love is the video that Google used as its first TV ad ever – the one […]
Famous Last Words 3/15: Trollocs are too stupid to use a catapult
GameWyrd had over 1,200 suggestions and memories of “Famous Last Words” of NPCs and PCs from all sorts of roleplaying games. This collection is the third archive saved from the original GameWyrd and brought over to Geek Native. One advantage of the new blog post format for this list (and a whole famous last words […]
Famous Last Words 2/15: That’s only a statue
This is the second collection of Famous Last Words from GameWyrd. It’s a sample of some of the more popular contributions from over 1,200 submissions. The original list would let registered Wyrdlings vote on which famous last words they thought were the best. We’ve not been able to bring that function over to Geek Native […]
Ryan Brown’s Play Dead book trailer
Ryan Brown is best known as a daytime drama actor. He’s appeared on Law & Order, Guiding Light as well as the Young and The Restless. Play Dead is his first book. It’s about zombies. The idea of a zombie football team came to him while quite a few pro-players were being outed as drug […]
Anime music video for Bohemian Rhapsody
Leiji Matsumoto is the brains behind such historic anime successes as Space Battleship Yamato, Captain Harlock and Galaxy Express 999. He’s also the chap who worked with Daft Punk in 2003 for the full-length film Interstella 5555. I much prefered Intersella 5555 to Space Battleship Yamato and the others. Why? It’s the anime style; what […]
The Dresden Files RPG – Evil Hat opens the pre-orders
Jim Butcher‘s The Dresden Files enjoyed a TV series in the States back in 2007. It’s going to get an RPG too and publishers Evil Hat are now openning the pre-order. There’s a list of talent working on this game. In fact, The Dresden Files RPG site lists Jim Butcher, himself, as one of the […]

Mongoose Publishing have made Signs and Portents available for download. As usual this electronic magazine is free to download (although it came to life as a paid for paper magazine). This month the cover and an early section puts the focus on Deus Vult. This is a new core rulebook from Mongoose, 176-pages in hardcover, […]
