Deviant Artist Alex Garner put together this X-Men poster, which just so happens to be X-Women, for Comic Con last year. It’s had well over 100 comments from the community and yet is just one of many high quality pieces he’s done. His portfolio is well worth a browse.

February 23, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Duncan Shirah is a talented sculptor. His creations are normally somewhere in between art and invention however the device above should be familiar. It’s a portal gun. Outside of work Duncan runs public demonstrations of iron casting which is pretty cool – and, perhaps, for science.

Dude, street art turns Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3D

February 17, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood 2 Comments

This impressive piece of street art was probably done entirely in chalk. It looks like London too. If you look into the sewer you’ll be able to the see the Oxford Street sign stuck in the green “waters”. There must be some skill in being able to get the angles right to suggest 3D and […]

RPG Ideas… nearly impossible buildings

February 15, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

These photographs are the work of Jim Kazanjian. You can even buy limited edition prints of the clever work at 23 Sandy. He’s inspired by H.P. Lovecraft and its not hard to see the M.C. Escher influence either. I’m recommending these “nearly impossible” buildings as RPG ideas because it’ll unsettle players in lovely ways. Some […]

Happy Valentine’s Day you worthless slug

February 14, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

I had to smile when I noticed the file name for this image was “dungeonlove”. This quirky picture comes from Mysterious Path, a personal project from Grey Wizard, described as the mutant offspring of 89’s gamebooks and old school 8bit RPGs. The blog is certainly worth following as quality and unique pictures, like the above, […]
