A common low-level enemy in JRPGs is the humble slime. As a result, we’re seeing them used charmingly in more and more anime.
By the Grace of the Gods is one such anime and it’s being co-produced by Funimation.
Why the name By the Grace of the Gods? Well, our hero us a middle-aged Japanese businessman who comes to an unexpected and disappointing end. Afterwards; three gods seek his cooperation and reincarnate him into a world of swords and sorcery.
The reincarnated Ryoma decides to spent his new time in an out of the way forest taming and looking after slimes, working on his own hunting and magic skills. He’s successful and even discovers some new types of slime.
Takeyuki Yanase (In Another World With My Smartphone, If It’s for My Daughter, I’d Even Defeat a Demon Lord) is directing.
