Games Workshop show off impressive new Warhammer gaming aids

I must admit I’m a big fan of any gaming mechanics that help enhance or contribute to the mood of the game. I think this video from Games Workshop shows how this approach can be applied to wargaming too.

The video shows some in-theme measuring devices. Not only does this mean putting an end to flopping bits of paper around the gaming table but it should help gamers measure distances and angles more fairly too.

I’m quite impressed. Of course, what we can’t tell from the video is how these aids feel to touch. I suspect they’re plastic and not the battle worn brass and copper that I’d like them to be! If they dont’ feel tacky we should be okay.

Oh; one last thing – that’s a pretty funky watch strap!
