Goblin Slayer: Goblin’s Crown isn’t a second season of the controversial and popular anime Goblin Slayer. It certainly hints that the publisher wants to do more with the franchise, though.
This trailer confirms that the original cast is back.
Goblin Slayer: Goblin’s Crown is a single and never seen before episode of Goblin Slayer. It’ll air in cinemas in Japan in February next year.
As is often the case, Goblin Slayer the anime is an adaptation of Kagyu Kumo and illustrator Noboru Kannatsuki’s light novel. As it happens, Goblin Crown is the title of chapter 6 in volume 5 of the books.
It’s purely speculation but this episode (which may still out to be a feature-length OVA) is likely to be based on that story. It might also be setting the timeline for a possible season two of the anime.
