We’ve found some great RPG Kickstarters to back this year but it might be fair to say that some of them have promised the Earth if only we would fund them a lever long enough to move it. Not this super-simple RPG. Troika is looking for £5,000 to fund and will put a hardback copy of the game in your hands for £18 and shipping. Curious? Follow progress at the Kickstarter campaign page.
You can download Troika!, right now, for free. Over at DrivethruRPG you can get free edition. It’s a full 56 pages but it has no art.
In contrast, you can also download the arty Troika! for £10 (US$12) in PDF. That’s also 56 pages.
The authors Daniell Sell and artist are the Melsonian Arts Council which is an ENnie award-winning combination.
In addition to the hardback tier, there is a Troika dice pledge level and a limited edition hardback too. If you step up to the dice tier you’ll also get a handwritten background in the book. I’m not sure how that works but it sounds cool.
Troika has perhaps one of the strangest Kickstarter stretch goals I’ve seen. At £20K Daniel Sell will write a whole section about Chromatic, Metallic & Psuedo Pigs. Not dragons. Imagine that.
