Most British people think there is intelligence life hidden in our oceans – although those who identify as geeks are less sure.
80% of people who responded to a survey from Geek Native, who didn’t identify as being a geek themselves, thought we could still find intelligent creatures in the sea. That compared to just over 68% of nerds.
There is still plenty of deep ocean to explore on Earth but all of it is at very high pressure and completely without sunlight. If there is intelligent life hiding at the bottom of ocean trenches it won’t be humanoid.
Geek Native’s survey wasn’t a robust and scientific endeavour, but it was fun to run. Last year, the blog had copies of the anime Nadia: Secret of the Blue Water to giveaway and ran the poll as part of the competition.
