The zoetrope was an early device for animation or the illusion of movement. A line of pictures was placed in the middle of the drum, along the outside edge, with slits cut in the side so you could review them from the outside. The drum was spinned and it looked like the image was movnig – a lot like the flipbook effect.
Zoetropes have been around since at least 200AD… but has anyone tried to make one with cake?
For that matter, has anyone tried to make one with a cake that looks like it might have been baked by Tim Burton?
