There will be perks for gamers who pre-order Mass Effect 3. GameStop have said that their exclusive perks are the N7 Valkyrie Assault Rifle and the N7 Defender Armour.
The N7 Valkyrie Assault Rifle will be a rare back market item for everyone else. The N7 Defender Armour works by channeling energy from the armour into weapons; to boost weapon power, ammo capacity – and apparently armour strength too.
We also know that gamers who pick up the game directly from EA’s Origin store enjoy a free AT-12 Raider Shotgun. The shotgun fires a large spread of pellets, with a quick load time between shots and is designed especially for close combat.
Gamers are left to assume that other shops may qualify for different pre-order perks. It’s also an assumption that similar deals will be available in Europe and elsewhere. There may also be a collectors edition with different goodies.
Anyone else think that game buying has become quite a tactical process these days? Are you going to pick up Mass Effect 3 and if so – how?
I wonder if these perks apply to GameStop UK as well?
I have now seen a press release from EA that lists the same perks as general UK pre-orders – so, yeah, I’d guess so.
I actually wish that all of these special pre-orders were the same instead of having to check every retailer to see what all is available. I rather order my games through Amazon so that I can get it free shipping on the date of release and by the time I get home from work it’s at my door. I haven’t seen any specials for them yet on free goodies in the game, so I may have to go down to Gamestop, which is a place I hate to go to.
2nd hand for £10, no point paying full price
