Luke Stratton’s Pirate Borg takes the grim, artpunk bones of Stockholm Kartell’s Mörk Borg, published by Free League, and casts them into the blood-soaked tides of the Dark Caribbean. Published by Limithron, this standalone tabletop roleplaying game thrusts players into a historical fantasy apocalypse circa 1650 to 1750. You run greedy scoundrels, cut-throats, and zealots raiding merchant vessels, navigating haunted islands, and trading Ash – the narcotic, crumbled residue of pulverised undead.
The latest Bundle of Holding collects the complete core rulebook, the sprawling Starter Set, and a flotilla of third-party scenarios from Limithron, Snapback Game Studios, and SkeletonKey Games. Packed with naval combat systems, rotting sea monsters, and ready-to-run sandbox adventures, this digital package delivers up to $93 worth of tabletop gaming material for a fraction of retail.

- Raise the Black (2 pages, retail price $4) – Maritime morale rules for hoisting colours, witchjack artefact flags, and a d20 pirate flag table.
- Sweet Tusk (6 pages, retail price $7) – An exploratory sandbox based around an overgrown coastal plantation plagued by feral boars and underground secrets.
Mechanically, Pirate Borg mirrors the rules-light philosophy of its parent system. Tasks resolve around rolling a d20 plus a relevant ability modifier against a target Difficulty Rating. Characters originate from archetypes such as the Brute, Rapscallion, Swashbuckler, and Zealot, alongside offbeat options like the undead Haunted Soul or the beast-born Tall Tale. Survival hinges on rationing Devil’s Luck, a finite pool that lets scoundrels shrug off fatal wounds, force rerolls, or secure lethal critical hits before luck inevitably runs dry.
Naval encounters discard passive waiting in favour of active crew participation. Ship-to-ship combat treats the vessel as a shared party extension: players assume specific roles each round, coordinating navigation, issuing captain’s orders, and firing broadsides. When crews finally dock, procedural tables drive portside carousing, letting characters burn silver on illicit Ash to acquire temporary supernatural edges or risk immediate rot. When your character drops, rolling a fresh buccaneer takes roughly two minutes.
