Yesterday at San Diego Comic-Con we were treated to not only some great new interviews from The Vampire Lestat cast, but also a brand new teaser trailer for Queen of the Damned (season four of the popular Interview with the Vampire series) – and, it packs a PUNCH!
The series titles have been following the books, but the show has waited until SDCC to a) announce the fact it’s been renewed for a fourth season (yay! And, hardly a surprise), and b) it’s going straight into Queen of the Damned (double YAY!).
Anne Rice’s Queen of the Damned is set for a new showrunner, Hannah Moscovitch, who will also be an executive producer alongside Mark Johnson and Rolin Jones. Moscovitch and Jones were there at yesterday’s panel next to The Vampire Lestat stars Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian and Sheila Atim.
However, let’s get right into this teaser trailer featuring Sheila Atim being FIERCE (WARNING: The Vampire Lestat spoilers incoming, so maybe don’t read this next bit if you haven’t watched it yet – although, it’s probably safe for you to still watch the teaser as it won’t really spoil anything).
Right. So, at the end of The Vampire Lestat, we saw the absolute devastation to the city of Montreal. We all guessed why (especially those who have already read the books). This teaser trailer also maybe explains why Louis appeared to be missing a leg, and Armand missing an eye. Okay, before we go any further, I’ll let you watch this:
Something I hadn’t necessarily been expecting right off the bat was Akasha’s call for the death of men. It’s a powerful way to tease the series, and it IS true enough to the book – not ALL men, obviously, but 90% of all men.
That’s right. Lestat’s concert is about to wake the Queen, and, basically wants most men gone… definitely not what vampires like Gabriella were planning for The Great Conversion, I’m guessing.
Anyway, I can’t wait for this next season, and I really hope it’s fast tracked! All the detail we have right now is the title, and the fact it’s definitely happening… I can also tell you fans are asking for more episodes this season, as seven just didn’t feel like enough for The Vampire Lestat.
