Online retailer HalloweenCostumes.com has launched its 2026 autumn product lineup, introducing a collection of 104 decorative pieces designed for large-scale displays. The range is led by an officially licensed The Lord of the Rings Balrog animatronic that stands 13.75 feet tall and features a 17.3-foot wingspan.
The product collection rolled out this July from the corporate headquarters of the parent company, FUN.com, in North Mankato, Minnesota. While the company is promoting a budget-friendly line alongside these releases, the high-end Middle-earth creature carries a retail price of $24,999.99, targeting commercial venues and dedicated collectors within the fantasy and tabletop roleplaying games community.
The expanded fantasy collection also introduces life-sized animatronic depictions of other iconic Middle-earth characters, including Gollum and the Witch-king of Angmar. These additions build out a dedicated sub-range for enthusiasts of high-fantasy lore and classic roleplaying games, offering a range of physical merchandise rarely available in retail.
The launch aligns with a growing fantasy culture footprint in the region, following the debut of Mankato Con at the Mayo Event Center earlier this year. For players of classic fantasy systems and tabletop roleplaying games, physical merchandise of this scale represents an unusual bridge between retail consumer goods and hobby lore.
However, the Balrog’s physical reality imposes operational constraints on buyers. According to the official technical specifications, the large-scale demon cannot get wet. The manufacturer states that the item requires a covered location and specific electrical safety measures, which complicates installation plans for consumers hoping to display the creature outdoors during a wet autumn.
The broader 2026 catalogue also includes expanded selections of outdoor inflatables up to 25 feet tall, as well as smaller licensed decorations from popular horror and comic properties. And no, we don’t think it’s too soon to blog about Halloween!
