Premium collectables brand Mondo has announced new San Diego Comic-Con exclusives for its Masters of the Universe range, featuring a 1/6-scale flocked Panthor and a 1/12-scale Keldor.

Both figures are scheduled to launch online on Wednesday, 22 July at 10 AM CT (4 PM BST). While Keldor is a timed release, the flocked Panthor remains a highly limited luxury edition.
The high-end toys pay homage to distinct eras of the long-running franchise. Keldor captures the aesthetics of the modernised 2002 animated series reboot. The massive 18-inch-long Panthor boasts a fully flocked velvet skin texture reminiscent of the classic 1980s Mattel action figures.
Designing the Dark Side: Keldor’s Fall
The 1/12 scale Keldor figure, priced at $115, is a direct nod to the classic 2002 Masters of the Universe cartoon reboot. In that continuity, Keldor is depicted as the blue-skinned rival of King Randor who becomes horribly scarred by acid during a failed coup.
For toy collectors who might only know the classic cartoon, Keldor occupies a crucial space in the history of Eternia. He is the man who eventually becomes Skeletor. First mentioned in the final 1987 Mattel minicomics as the long-lost brother of King Randor, his origin story was fully animated in the 2002 cartoon reboot.
In this story, Keldor is a blue-skinned warrior of the Gar race who leads a violent rebellion to seize the throne of Eternia. During a magical duel with Randor, Keldor hurls a vial of corrosive acid, but his opponent deflects it back onto Keldor’s face. To save his dying commander, the dark sorceress Evil-Lyn takes him to Hordak’s sanctuary. Hordak strips the melting flesh from Keldor’s skull to save his life, transforming him into the cackling, disembodied Skeletor. This tragic origin links He-Man directly to his archnemesis, making Skeletor Prince Adam’s biological uncle.
The new 1/12-scale Keldor figure specifically celebrates the franchise’s 2002 era. To represent his transformation, the set includes several swappable portrait heads: a standard face, an angry expression, a smug smirk, and a gruesome “acid-burn” head with semi-transparent melting green flesh.
Mondo’s team, overseen by senior creative director Peter Santa-Maria, designed this version with a focus on historical details. The set comes packed with accessories:
- Swappable portrait heads showing Keldor’s progression from a smug general to a screaming warrior.
- A gruesomely detailed “acid-burn” head sculpt with transparent melting flesh, capturing the exact moment his face is destroyed.
- His dual signature swords, blasters, and a removable fabric cape.
We absolutely can’t wait for Masters of the Universe fans to see the incredible work the team did on this Keldor figure. The design, sculpt, and paint are just next-level and truly pushing what is possible in the 1/12 figure space”
– Peter Santa-Maria, Senior Creative Director at Mondo, said in a statement.

Panthor: The $525 Flocked Apex Predator
Sharing the spotlight is Panthor, an incredibly large 1/6 scale recreation of Skeletor’s fearsome feline companion. Measuring 12 inches tall and 18 inches long, with its green-tinted ram-horn battle armour in place, the beast demands a massive chunk of display shelf real estate and a hefty $525 investment.
The defining feature of this release is the choice of flocking. While Mondo has previously released a plastic-textured Panthor, this San Diego Comic-Con variant is wrapped in soft faux-fur flocking that mimics the velvety touch of the 1984 toy line.
The piece features over 60 articulation points, a bendable tail, four interchangeable heads (including helmetless, battle-fanged, and retro-helmet designs), and removable leg guards. The custom-sculpted saddle is engineered specifically to hold Mondo’s existing 1/6 scale Skeletor figure.
Peter Santa-Maria said in a statement,
Flocked Panthor truly is a beast. We have been working hard to get this release perfectly dialed in, and we are proud to say that it is worth the wait. A flocked 1/6 scale figure of this size is going to be a major focal point of any Masters of the Universe collection.

For fans attending the convention in California, Panthor will also be physically stocked at the Mondo SDCC booth in Hall G, Booth 5137.
