Stockholm-based Free League Publishing has officially opened pre-orders for the Invincible – Superhero Roleplaying game, bringing the acclaimed comic and animated series to the tabletop. The announcement arrives during Superhero Week at Geek Native, offering fans the chance to secure the game ahead of its 30 July launch at Gen Con 2026 in Indianapolis and in global hobby stores.

Players who pre-order directly through the Free League webshop receive immediate PDF access. The publisher’s update lands on the same day as their annual Summer Sale, which runs until 16 July. While the sale offers up to 80% off select items and 40% off established core roleplaying games like Dragonbane and The One Ring, newly announced pre-orders like Invincible are not included in the discounts.
The Invincible game utilises Free League’s established Year Zero Engine, adapted by lead designers Adam Bradford and Tomas Härenstam. The Core Rulebook allows players to create heroes at any power level, featuring nearly 70 distinct superpowers and campaign tools. It also includes stats for over 60 established characters from the universe created by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley.
For new players, the Starter Set provides a streamlined entry point. It includes six pregenerated heroes, including Invincible, Atom Eve, Rex Splode, and Monster Girl, alongside custom dice, maps, tokens, and a three-act introductory adventure called Metro Mayhem. The full physical product line-up includes a dedicated GM Screen, a custom 10-dice set, and quick-reference Power Cards. For digital players, Free League previously confirmed support for Foundry Virtual Tabletop during the successful Kickstarter campaign.
Gen Con attendees can register to play Superhero Season, a new two-hour convention adventure where a bounty is placed on the heroes’ heads. Printed copies of the adventure will also be available at the Free League booth.
