Bothell-based design studio Hack Shack Games has launched a crowdfunding campaign for The Last Round Table, an unconventional Tier 2 adventure module built for Daggerheart. Running on Kickstarter until mid-July 2026, this standalone fantasy dungeon crawl challenges players to navigate an ancient, subterranean brewery that has violently manifested beneath a local tavern.

The adventure arrives as third-party creators rapidly expand the tactical options available for Darrington Press’ new system following the mid-2026 convention cycle. By offering independent material ahead of upcoming official system expansions later this year, the module provides game masters with immediate, drop-in mechanics centred on group-driven obstacles and shifting tactical factions.
Underground Eruptions and Missing Mascots
The plot unfolds after a mysterious dungeon entrance opens directly beneath the Wobbly Harpy Inn overnight, replacing the entire cellar with a slippery, spiralling stone staircase leading into the deep darkness. This sudden structural catastrophe coincides with the disappearance of three local mercenaries known as the Sootfoot Strays and the establishment’s beloved tavern mascot, Princess Crumplehoof the Goat. Players must venture into the depths to rescue the missing parties and uncover the magical anomalies operating within the sunken brewery.
According to the game’s lore, the subterranean facility belongs to a lost tavern called The Last Round Table, which vanished decades ago after brewing an ale so dense it cracked the earth beneath it. The module is set within Halflight Halls, a high-fantasy campaign landscape where licensed adventuring parties operate under corporate writs called Marks and compete directly with rival guilds for commercial dominance.
The Threat System and Tactical Variety
The core mechanic of the adventure is its flexible Threat System. Instead of navigating a static series of encounters across the four distinct levels of the sunken facility, the game master or players choose one of three distinct factions before exploration begins. This choice completely alters the mechanical threats, types of opposition, and overarching theme of the dungeon, providing high replay value.
The available factions introduce varied tactical challenges:
- The Final Account: A group representing corporate greed, led by the strict former manager Corvis Drayman. This undead workforce comprises skeletal teamsters, tallymen, and heavy lifters, all focused on lethal efficiency.
- The Counter Culture: A collective driven by gluttony, marshalled by a sentient yeast mutation taking the form of a hag named Dopplecrock. This force spreads through proximity and warmth, seeking to blend the party into a single, unified batch.
- The Bad Band: An undead group representing pride, led by Mugsy Dangerford, an incredibly untalented bard. Backed by spectral roadies and manifestations called Stage Frights, this faction targets the structure of the tavern itself.
The module also includes non-aligned environmental elements to complicate combat, such as the aggressive mascot goat that charges at both allies and enemies, and animated furniture that serves as a defence network. The project delivers a balanced toolkit of 25 new magical items and 25 distinct adversaries tailored specifically to the host system’s mechanical strengths.

Pledge Tiers and Campaign Logistics
The crowdfunding structure focuses entirely on digital and print editions of the Daggerheart adventure, providing straightforward reward choices for backers.
- Pledge $10 (approx. £8): Last Round Table PDF. Access to the core digital adventure book alongside downloadable encounter maps and a bundle of digital tokens for monsters, items, and non-player characters.
- Pledge $15 (approx. £12): Last Round Table Print-on-Demand + PDF. Inclusion of the full digital reward package along with an official code to order a physical softcover version at base manufacturing cost.
- Pledge $25 (approx. £19): All-in + Your name as Special Thanks!. The complete digital and print-on-demand package supplemented by a formal name credit within the printed book’s acknowledgements.
The campaign operates on an all-or-nothing model, meaning the project will receive funding only if it meets its financial target by Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 1:03 AM BST. With double-wave playtesting and layout already near completion, Hack Shack Games estimates delivery of the digital and print assets in July 2026. Backers selecting physical tiers will pay for printing and shipping costs directly through DriveThruRPG upon distribution.
