The upcoming theatrical release of Supergirl, scheduled to arrive in British cinemas on 25 June, has sparked an unusual culinary experiment from London’s gourmet confectioners, Joe & Seph’s. The premium popcorn brand, headquartered in London, has officially rolled out its limited-edition Intergalactic Popcorn Mix to celebrate the cinematic launch.

However, achieving the iconic red-and-blue palette of the House of El appears to have posed a significant hurdle in the kitchen. Despite marketing materials explicitly promising “dazzling blue colour-coated Salted Caramel” and “vibrant red colour-coated Strawberries & Cream,” a visual inspection reveals that the finished product has physically landed closer to a distinct palette of pink and green.
The visual shift will not deter enthusiasts who value flavour over strict aesthetic accuracy. Joe & Seph’s utilises a signature air-popping technique, meaning the pink and green kernels still faithfully deliver the promised strawberries and cream profile alongside their traditional buttery-rich caramel. The product is officially certified as nut-free, gluten-free, and suitable for vegetarians. You know, if a Magic card came out with unexpected colours on the first print, it would be a collectable.
This is not the first time Joe & Seph’s has targeted the geek community with high-end confectionery. Tabletop gamers will remember their previous foray into official licensing with an official Dungeons & Dragons line, which featured a far more successful colour execution for its badass and spicy chocolate mix.
The Supergirl Competition
To mark the blockbuster tie-in, the confectionery brand is running a promotional draw alongside the product rollout. Film fans purchasing the mix can enter a competition to win a city break for two alongside a year’s supply of popcorn.
The specialist Intergalactic Popcorn Mix is priced at £5.00 per pouch, with free standard shipping available on orders over £35.00.
