Dorset-based indie publisher Black Armada Games has announced its full exhibition and gameplay lineup for the upcoming UK Games Expo 2026. Taking place at the NEC in Birmingham from 29 to 31 May, the studio will anchor its presence at Stand 3A-407, debuting a new standalone edition of its political resistance game, The Big H.

The convention serves as a showcase for the studio’s growing portfolio of independent roleplaying games. Alongside the headline zine launch, the team is opening pre-registration for compressed, one-hour demonstration sessions designed to introduce convention attendees to their mechanical systems without disrupting packed event schedules.
Originally published in The Gauntlet Codex, The Big H explores the dark intersection of absolute power and structural corruption. In an email shared with subscribers, Black Armada Games outlined the game’s core premise, explaining that it focuses on “a hyper-powered superhero becoming a political ruler and corrupting the high ideals they once held.” Players step into the boots of lesser-powered heroes who must navigate the breakdown of their former idol’s morality and ultimately build a resistance movement to dismantle the regime. This updated standalone release features a complete zine-format overhaul, retaining the original aesthetic layout managed by Oli Jeffrey alongside illustrations by artist Jesse Ross.
The studio’s exhibition presence also highlights an ongoing micro-distribution strategy within the broader UK indie scene. In addition to their primary catalogue, Black Armada Games will be retailing physical print editions of Against Time and Death, a title created by independent studio ickbat games. This collaborative sales approach is a big help and an antidote to the physical retail visibility for fringe creators who might otherwise lack a dedicated booth space at a convention of this scale.
For attendees looking to experience the systems firsthand, the publisher is running short-form demo slots throughout the weekend. The gameplay menu features Ex Tenebris, a dark gothic space investigation game that completed its crowdfunding phase in October 2025, alongside their flagship cosmic horror title Lovecraftesque. Rounding out the demo table are Speed Daemons, which fuses illegal mech racing with high-octane cinematic action, and Carnival Tenebris, a narrative game charting travelling circus performers working to avert demonic incursions.
Pre-bookings for the demo schedule are currently live online, with remaining slots allocated to walk-up attendees during the three-day convention.
