USB coat hanger … charges stuff

At a glance the idea of a USB coat hanger seems like a joke. An extension of all the crazy things we’ve seen adapted into USB devices of some sort or another. I had a USB missile launcher on my desk for a while.

However, this USB coat hanger is actually an entry into the Spark Awards for designers. This is not a joke product. Here’s the idea; the coat hanger plugs into the main power supply and then offers you USB connections to plug your re-charging phones and MP3 players into. This means you can charge your mobile devices from your pockets.

For a start the chances of you leaving your Blackberry in your bedside draw, rushing to your flight to London and being stuck without easy email all week would be much reduce. Not that, er, that’s ever happened to me!
