Pinnacle Entertainment Group has launched its Pathfinder for Savage Worlds: Carrion Crown campaign on BackerKit, and it has already achieved significant success, soaring past $63,000 from a modest $4,000 goal.
To celebrate the gothic horror campaign, Pinnacle has also released a free preview on DriveThruRPG. Titled Savage Haunts, the download provides a trio of spooky encounters drawn from the first adventure, Haunting of Harrowstone.
These encounters, “Rest in Peace”, “A House on Fire”, and “A Vision of Imprisonment”, are designed to be easily dropped into any Pathfinder for Savage Worlds game, offering a ghostly glimpse of the full campaign’s horrors.
The Carrion Crown Adventure Path is renowned as one of Pathfinder’s darkest and most frightening stories. The Savage Worlds conversion brings the entire six-part epic to the “Fast! Furious! Fun!” system.
Set in the haunted land of Ustalav, the campaign pits heroes against the agents of the notorious lich-king, the Whispering Tyrant. The six adventures see players investigate the Haunting of Harrowstone, stand trial with the Trial of the Beast (a flesh golem), navigate werewolf politics in Broken Moon, confront cosmic horror in Wake of the Watcher, hunt a vampire-killer in Ashes at Dawn, and finally face the cult in Shadows of Gallowspire.
The Deluxe pledge on BackerKit bundles the six softback adventure books with a Player’s Guide, a dedicated Bestiary, adversary cards, player handouts, and maps.
A key highlight of the crowdfunding campaign is the exclusive Carrion Crown Pawn Set. Pinnacle notes that pawns were never created for the original Pathfinder release. This new set features 10 die-cut, full-colour sheets with artwork from Paizo’s artists, making it a valuable accessory for GMs running the campaign in either Savage Worlds or the original Pathfinder system.
This project continues the successful partnership between Pinnacle and Paizo, which has previously brought other popular Adventure Paths like Rise of the Runelords to the Savage Worlds roleplaying game.
