Steamforged Games has officially released The Strangelight Workshop, a standalone tabletop roleplaying game set in the steampunk world of the Iron Kingdoms.

The new title, which is compatible with Dungeons & Dragons 5e, launches after a successful Kickstarter campaign earlier this year and casts players as occult investigators.
In the game, players join the titular Strangelight Workshop, a secret society dedicated to investigating the paranormal. Teams of agents are tasked with exploring strange case files, using a combination of prototype technology, arcane science, and unorthodox methods to confront the supernatural. The setting blends steam power with otherworldly magic, pitting investigators against spectres, infernals, and eldritch beings.
The core release consists of a 332-page rulebook which details the investigative system and the wider Iron Kingdoms setting. It’s accompanied by the Specternomicon, a bestiary containing over 80 nightmarish creatures for Game Masters to use. The system is designed to take the established world of the Iron Kingdoms into a new realm of mystery and mayhem.
This release is one of the first major RPG launches for the Iron Kingdoms brand under Steamforged Games, which acquired the intellectual property from its original creator, Privateer Press, in June 2024.
In the press release, Steamforged Games described the player’s role.
Your assignment, should you accept it, is to assemble a team of agents. Using peculiar prototype technology, quick thinking, and often unorthodox methods, you’ll explore all manner of paranormal case files — from the rationally explicable to the downright bizarre. If someone has a strange problem, you’ll have an even stranger solution!

The Strangelight Workshop is now available to purchase from FLGS, but we note that Steamforge’s Amazon store is oddly empty.
