Anime streaming giant Crunchyroll has announced that two full-length compilation films based on the first season of Chainsaw Man will be available on its platform this September. The move is designed to allow fans to catch up on the story ahead of the highly anticipated cinematic release of Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc.

The two feature-length films, titled Chainsaw Man – The Compilation: Part I and Chainsaw Man – The Compilation: Part II, will stream exclusively on Crunchyroll worldwide, excluding Asia. These compilations revisit the bloody and chaotic events of the first season, following the journey of Denji, a perpetually broke young man who becomes the titular “Chainsaw Man” after a deadly betrayal.
Based on the wildly popular manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto, the Chainsaw Man anime is produced by the acclaimed studio MAPPA, known for its work on hits like Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack on Titan Final Season. In addition to re-edited episodes from the series, the compilation films will feature new content called Chainsaw Days, which adapts bonus episodes from the original manga.
The story begins with Denji working as a Devil Hunter for the yakuza, accompanied by his Chainsaw Devil dog, Pochita, in a desperate attempt to pay off his inherited debt. After being betrayed and left for dead, he merges with Pochita, gaining a devil’s heart and the ability to transform parts of his body into chainsaws. His brutal new existence leads him to join the Public Safety Devil Extermination Special Division 4. The compilations will cover key moments, from his battle with the “Eternity Devil” to the welcome party for new recruits, where Denji pursues a promised kiss from his colleague Himeno.
The compilation films serve as a perfect primer for Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, which is set to hit UK cinemas on October 29th through Sony Pictures. Tickets for the film will be available at major cinema chains, potentially including Cineworld and Vue.
For fans looking to show their allegiance to the Public Safety Devil Hunters, Crunchyroll’s official online store offers a wide range of Chainsaw Man merchandise, including figures, clothing, and accessories. You can check out the full collection here.
