Outland Games is Kickstarting Cullen Bunn’s Quill & Codex RPG + Daemonrot Dungeon for print.
That’s the Cullen Bunn of Deadpool, X-Men, The Sixth Gun and many other titles. You can get the digital rules for free by reading on or jump to backing the Kickstarter, but be quick as it leaves crowdfunding on the 5th of July.
The rules for Quill & Codex are free and available as a zero-cost purchase from Outland. That means interacting with their e-commerce system.
Daemonrot is a free bi-weekly “meatgrinder dungeon” that uses Quill & Codex. Issue one is also free, and each month, a new dungeon will be available. That dungeon will also be free.
The Daemonrot book is the compilation of those dungeons and will be a limited edition.
QUILL & CODEX is a rules light role-playing game designed to be easy to learn and easy to play, allowing gamers to focus on having fun, rolling dice, and telling stories together.
There’s no digital tier as all the digital content is free. Those backers, however, who can stretch to $15 will get the Quill & Codex zine. Shipping needs to be calculated later.
Then, at $20, backers get the Daemonrot limited zine. That’s a restricted tier, but you’ll be unlucky if it sells out between this post going live and the Kickstarter campaign finishing.
Backers at $25 get the Quill & Codex plus Character Journo combo. Then, at $50, backers get extra Character Journals for their whole group.
Brace yourself, as next up there’s a $750 jump for the original cover of Daemonrot as an art prize.
As you might infer, many of the Quill & Codex with Daemonrot zines combos have already sold out. Such is the risk of limited edition,s and Outland may have made them too exclusive.
Outland is suggesting an August 2025 delivery date for the campaign.
