VRDLK: Family of Vurdulak (pronounced Vor-du-lac) is the chilling inaugural instalment of the animated horror anthology series, Red Iron Road. Each episode in the series is a standalone short film (10-20 minutes) adapting the work of a celebrated European author. To best serve each narrative, every instalment is crafted with unique creative partners and features a distinct visual style.
Since its World Premiere at the prestigious Fantasia Film Festival in 2022, VRDLK has captivated audiences globally. An official selection at 38 festivals, the film went on to win 12 top prizes, including Best Short and Best Animation, at renowned genre events such as the Nevermore Film Festival, FilmQuest, and LUSCA Fantastic Film Festival.
Directed by Sam Chou and written by Ellery VanDooyeweert, the film was produced by Lakeside Animation with animation by LookMom! Productions and a musical score by Brett Carruthers and Stephany Seki.
