Nevola Lab is a relatively new Italian tabletop games studio, and their Homes & Co. mystery (also featuring a legal drama option) TTRPG looks promising.
There have been some complications. I don’t know what, but the Kickstarter is marked as a relaunch and with about two days to go, the campaign is at 95% funding. It’ll probably make it across the line.
There’s a free English quickstart on Dropbox.
There are three ways to play Homes & Co.. They are;
- Classic Detective Stories is a style where logic and deduction are key.
- Action-Packed Mysteries is a style where danger is everywhere, and quick thinking can be a matter of life or death.
- Legal Thrillers is a style where justice is achieved both on the streets and in the courtroom through sharp arguments and a persistent quest for truth.
There are tailored game mechanics for each of the three styles of Holmes & Co play.
There are two books in the project: the corebook for the rules (and three sample cases to solve) and the casebook with more cases. Each case has its own particular subgenre of crime thriller. English and Italian versions are coming.
You don’t need to be a crime fiction bookworm to enjoy Holmes&Co., the mysteries you’ll face are designed to test your intellect and intuition, not your expertise in detective literature. Whether you’re a seasoned investigator or stepping into the world of crime fiction for the first time, the game will guide you effortlessly through the art of deduction.

Backers can support the indie project by pledging Euros or sharing the news of the campaign before the Kickstarter clock hits zero.
Those supporters who pledge €20 or more (which is about £17) will get the corebook and the marked stretch goals in PDF.
Holmes & Co backers at €30 get the corebook and the casebook, plus marked stretch goals in PDF.
At €35, supporters get the corebook for Holmes & Co in print and the marked print stretch goals.
All the books upgrade to print at the final €70 tier.
The 10th of June is the cutoff for the Holmes & Co relaunch, and Nevola Lab estimate an April 2026 for the printed books.
