The first full trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth has just dropped from Universal Pictures, and it seems we’re in for an action-packed ride with this new movie, at the same time taking us back to its original Jurassic Park roots.
Directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla), written by Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp, and produced by Steven Spielberg, we did have high hopes for this one. Having now seen the trailer, my thoughts are a little mixed.
Why? Because just when you think the dinosaurs can’t get any more dangerous and thrilling, here we go again; this time with characters landing on the original dinosaur development island, where all of the scariest dinosaurs who were classed ‘too dangerous’ for the park still live.
Hooray! Dinosaurs are living peacefully, undisturbed by volcanos and thriving on this previously unheard-of (to viewers) island? Surely that’s great! But oh no, humans are coming to f*** it all up again, just like always.
On first impressions, I do think this is going to be a less complicated, back to high-action movie that’s not taking itself too seriously – and I kind of welcome that. I might still cry over dinosaurs getting hurt or killed, because that’s just my brain now, but hopefully it’ll just be fun!
According to the official description:
The planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.

Jurassic World Rebirth stars Scarlett Johansson (Zora Bennett), Jonathan Bailey (Dr. Henry Loomis), and Mahershala Ali (Duncan Kincaid).
We can also watch it and imagine the LEGO game remake at the same time, when it’s released in cinemas on 2nd July.
