Little Dusha, a Paris-based publisher leaning towards Slavic fantasy and the desire to build the world of MIR, has taken their first project to Kickstarter.
MIR, the TTRPG, is about hard moral choices and hunting deadly incarnations of trauma. The Kickstarter community liked the pitch, and hundreds have flocked to the crowdfunding page.
Little Dusha isn’t shy about calling MIR a dark, mature and art-heavy TTRPG. The D12 system is straightforward, but the emotional choices faced in the game won’t be.
Characters in MIR are agents who must track down those people who have made an Echo through their suffering. That means a quick way to get rid of the dangerous Echo is to eliminate the person suffering. Or, you know, the hard way to help or cure the sufferer.
MIR, which you might see written as Cyrillic as MИP on social media, combines investigation with that horrible intrigue. Characters are no longer mortal; they can change reality and confront the darkness without being transformed themselves.
An indescribable horror, millions of lives snuffed out in an instant. Those who survived turned their backs on the ancient Arts that were the cause of their downfall. Thus, the Pact of MIR was born. An organization was created to enforce the laws of the Pact. Its agents, selected from among the world’s elite, were tasked with preventing the Ruin from ever happening again.
The Ruin has become little more than a legend, the MIR a relic of the past, its agents pariahs. But in the shadow of ignorance, reality is changing. Echoes, incarnations of past suffering brought to life by the energy of the Ruin, are multiplying. Hiding the form of places, creatures or even people, they warp reality, and the threat of The Ruin’s return looms ever closer.
Backers can pledge at €1 to get add-on access.
At €30, backers are rewarded the PDF version of MIR – Oath, which are the core rules but also have the scenario as an add-on option.
Doubling the pledge to €60 transforms the book to print, unlocks 6 pre-made characters and adds the GM screen. There are more add-ons at this tier too.
It’s not quite a doubling again, but at €100 (which is about £84) there’s a full set of the d12s needed for MIR and a full map of the world. At €125 there’s more pre-made characters and a scenario compendium too.
The tiers include an €180 option, €220, €300, €400 and €600 plus an extra retailer option. The top tiers are selling out, which is usally a good sign.
The campaign runs until October 20th, a Sunday and Little Dusha estimates a June 2025 fulfilment.
