Sojourn RPG Publishing is Kickstarting a tabletop RPG set in an ever-changing dungeon crawl to heaven. The adventure setting is called Let Us Build a Tower.
Characters might become gods if they can make the sacrifices required. The TTRPG will be funded if enough players make financial sacrifices to reach the $5,000 crowdfunding target.
The dark fantasy Let Us Build a Tower adventure is set in a mythic Bronze Age and angled towards OSR systems.
The apocalyptic ruins of the City of Babel are the mega-dungeon basis for this setting, and the Tower rises from it. Thanks to Heaven’s curse, the contents of the Tower change each time characters enter it.
Not knowing the lay of the land is a serious challenge when monsters can range from Scorpionfolk guardians to Fallen Gods and both Behemoth and Leviathan.
However, the Kickstarter will also fund Players Guides, offering advice to players and providing light-rules for any group with the Tower and no OSR to pair it with.
Backers at $20 are thanked with all the digital stretch goals, access to a web generator to conjure up Towers and the PDF core rules.
The standard hardcover is added at the $45 tier. $60 swaps out the hardcover with the premium edition with a dust jacket.
$100 backers get two print versions, the dust jacket special edition to keep safe and the standard hardcover for the players to paw over. If you have lots of players, the $180 tier has three copies, not one, of the standard edition.
Perhaps this is for retailers or gamer groups with far richer tastes than me, but $220 gets four premium editions instead of regular editions.
The premium physical editions are limited in number. Sojourn RPG Publishing estimates July 2024 for the campaign delivery, and the Kickstarter finishes just this side of the year and on December 28th.
