Another anime from the Fuji TV and Crunchyroll partnership is Metallic Rogue. Unlike Undead Girl Murder Farce, where there was a manga to extract the plot, Metallic Rogue is an original creation, and Crunchyroll isn’t saying much about it.
Fuji’s or studio Bones’ website, however, is. Although Google Translate says the studio is “Bonds”, and maybe it is, everyone else is saying “Bones”. I’ve heard of the latter, not the former, so let’s go with the crowd.
And here are the bones of the series via a trailer.
The first Metallic Rouge trailer says, “Heart of a young girl… a body made of steel, ” which lines up with more clues from the translated Bones site. That says;
- A tech noir science fiction
- Androids fight for their destinies
- Humans and androids coexist
- Android Rouge and her buddy Naomi are on a mission on Mars, and it’s the murder of “nine artificial humans who are hostile to the government.”
Cowboy Bebop’s Toshihiro Kawamoto is doing character design, and Nobu Horimoto of the fantastic Carole & Tuesday is directing.
