The official anime for the Arknights smartphone is coming. Arknights: Prelude to Dawn has a second trailer, and it might not be the reaction Yostar Pictures wanted, but I think it shows a future we’re dangerously close to.
The trailer has gangs of masked and hooded youths, fights, climate change and drones going to war.
The plot is a bit different, and it’s a fantasy world, not ours, and it’s called Terra.
Terra is plagued by Catastrophes which forces people into roaming cities. The Catastrophes are rare but significant and summon up a rare element called Originum that’s rich in energy.
If exposed to Originium for too long, you will develop a wasting condition known as Oripathy.
In the game, you’re part of a roving medical company trying to help but encounter terrorists.
The lead character, Ace, doesn’t have a voice actor in the smartphone game, but for the anime, that role has gone to Takashi Matsuyama.
