One of Free League Publishing’s many impressive franchises is the Alien RPG, a tabletop RPG based on the iconic sci-fi film.
One of Titan Books’ many impressive franchises in Alien… and, well, you can see where we’re going here.
Today, the two publishers have announced a collaboration on a unified storyline with titles coming out in 2022 and 2023.
What does an Alien unified storyline mean? Writers will work together to share notes, and Titan Books’ fiction will line up with the RPG plots from Free League’s supplements.
Titan Acquisitions Editor Steve Saffel told the press;
The ALIEN RPG has established the ‘Frontier War,’ as remote human colonies come under assault by an unknown enemy, dropping a deadly pathogen that unleashes monsters on those worlds. At the same time, in the wake of the Titan novel Alien: Into Charybdis, political tensions on Earth reach a boiling point.”
Saffel is referring to events in the ALIEN RPG: Colonial Marines Operations Manual, which was published last year.
Next up are three novels from Titan. They are;
- Alien: Colony War by David Barnett (April 2022)
- Alien: Inferno’s Fall by Phillipa Ballantine and Clara Carija (July 2022)
- Alien: Enemy of My Enemy by Mary SanGiovanni (February 2023)
Alien: Colony War is open for pre-orders now, via Amazon in the States and Forbidden Planet in the UK.
Free League collectors will note that each of those Titan books will have a scenario written by Andrew E. C. Gaska, the Alien RPG line developer. The first of those scenarios is called Fallout.
