Kei Sazane’s God’s Game We Play (Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru) is a series of light novels that have already made the leap to manga. Next, according to this video from Kadokawa is an anime.
It’s a teaser, not a trailer, but the presence of English text suggests Kadokawa is looking to take the show to streaming platforms outside of Japan.
The books are about supreme gods who become bored and create the ultimate intellectual game; the Kamigami no Asobi.
Rising to the challenge is a one-time goddess called Reche. Reche announces that a human could challenge the gods themselves in the Kamigami no Asobi and picks a young rookie named Fey as her appointed champion.
The English text in the light novel’s counter says;
The Ultimate game-battles of a boy and the gods
The cover shows wargame-like miniatures as well as chess pieces in play.
Kei Sazane recently had an anime success with Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World and that show was picked up for international streaming.
